Executive Director Carylynn Larson, Ph.D.

Cary is the founder of Rock Recovery, and is currently acting as Executive Director. Cary is also an Organizational Psychologist for the National Science Foundation, an aerobics instructor, a professor at The George Washington University, a community group leader at National Community Church (Washington, D.C.), and an active member of the International Leadership Association and Society for Industrial/ Organizational Psychology. As a collegiate runner, she misunderstood the struggles of several good friends before finding herself in the trap of anorexia and exercise bulimia. After much recovery, she relapsed as a working professional. In search of intensive support options, she was disheartened to find that all required her to take leave from her job and invest tens of thousands of dollars out-of-pocket. Out of this experience, God gave her a vision – recovery houses designed to bring hope and healing to those still suffering while remaining engaged in their daily lives. Rock Recovery is the result of that vision.
